Updating your Swift Package from Play

Update a Play SwiftUI or UIKit package in an Xcode project

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Once you've exported your Play project to Xcode, you can continuously update the package with new changes made to your design in Play. After the first export, the publish popup will include a new "Update" button that allows you to skip the export flow.

Export to an Existing Xcode Project

Clicking the "Update" button will immediately begin re-exporting the package.

Select the existing .xcodeproj file to update. Make sure to update the project the latest package versions from the top menu in Xcode (File > Packages > Update to Latest Package Versions).

To make naming changes and view implementation, click the gear part of the "Update" button. From there, click "Export to Xcode" to begin re-exporting the package.

If your Xcode project appears broken, it's most likely due to naming inconsistencies. We don’t auto-update component, style, asset, page or variables names for you if you’ve changed them in Play.
